It has been over two months since I last cooked and wrote. I am sad and disappointed... I thought I would be back to my international culinary journey by now, without a doubt. But it seems that motherhood, and life in general, are proving a little too demanding for me to resume the mission I set out to accomplish with such passion six months ago.
Here's what has been going on in our lives since February 16th...
On February 17th, Rose Keysor was born. She is a beautiful little girl and we are so proud of her and thrilled to have her in our family!
On February 21st, I returned home from the hospital and began my new life as Mom of "two under two". This is also the day that I stopped getting any more than four hours of sleep a night. Yikes!
On March 20th, we began packing up all of our worldly possessions. And then I quickly left for my parent's house where the kids and I would hide out until the move was complete.
On March 28th, we all spent our first night in our new house in the suburbs! It was hard to say goodbye to the city, but we quickly started exploring and enjoying our new town.
On April 12th, Ted started his new job! We are very proud of him and thrilled that after five years in the same gig, he has made a huge jump and is starting a new career with a great new company.
On April 16th, I once again disappeared so that Ted, my Dad, and my brother-in-law, could install hardwood floors in our new home.
The May issue of Food & Wine was forwarded to our new address, and I received it last week. The cover of the magazine screamed at me: "COOK YOUR WAY AROUND THE WORLD!"
Indeed I will, Food & Wine, indeed I will. Now I just need to muster up the motivation...
