Off The Map: The Sweetest Thing

In normal life I do not have much of a sweet tooth. I prefer to drink my dessert rather than eat it. But when I was pregnant with Henry I had a major hankering for pies. I made tons of them. This time around, my focus is on cookies and cakes.

Please keep in mind that I am not a baker - at all. So when I give you a dessert recipe, rest assured that if I can recreate it with good results, so could a monkey with one hand tied behind it's back.

Here are a few I'd like to share with you!

I got this recipe from Food & Wine, my favorite cooking magazine. The dough was actually a little dry so I found the filling was key to making these good cookies.

I ate one of these at Flour Bakery earlier this Fall and thought it was one of the best things I'd ever tasted. I was pretty excited when I found the recipe online. I decided to use the mascarpone filling from the gingerbread cookies above - delicious!

I don't think I've made an Ina Garten recipe that I didn't love. This is no exception. I could eat it for breakfast or dessert!
